Hum, nice sample, very cool, and edible of the Sparassis crispa, also known as the Clavaire cauliflower !
(finally, this was the case in 2009).

That's how I find Sparassis ... That way, clean. No difficulty to clean. Hmmm! It's so delicious. Too bad that we should trudge to find them. For it is in the forest of pinnacles found this type of fungus and the pinnacles, mountain, climbing it! I'm not going to finish in the 63 to find, because in the Vosges, they begin become rare

Interesting and beautiful, this mushroom is very decorative that looks like a sponge.
I had never seen, neither in nature nor in a store.
It would be a good idea to erase the blue part on the right.

The shape and colors of this fungus 'Clavaire curly dock' (Sparassis crisppa) make a nice wallpaper. Consumed very young and mostly cleaned very carefully, it is very good.
Do you still confirm that it is indeed a fungus 'Clavaire curly dock'

This curious fungus grows in summer and autumn in the wood, it is the clavaire curly dock(sparassis crisppa) which is in the shape of a cauliflower. It is a edible and of good quality if harvested young. It must be well-developed, firm, cream-white to pinkish solid colour on the whole of the fungus. It has a nutty flavor and an aromatic fragrance. Good photo for its description
