Author 'Ninik' (Id 124033 ) : Belfry of Tournai, viewed from the Grand Place. Unfortunately, I was working against the light but I also took the other side. The history of the oldest belfry in Belgium (70m high) begins 1188. King Philip Augustus of France, anxious to secure an ally to fight the Count of Flanders, grants a charter granting Tournaisiens including the 'right bell'. The bell, until privilege of the clergy and nobility, to be housed in a 'proper place', it was decided to build a belfry, which will become the symbol of communal liberties. The staircase can reach five stories rooms used previously in prison. The announcement bancloque public festivals and gave the alarm bell. The bell served as a watchtower, a prison, as a belfry and as a town hall. The bell became a UNESCO site in 1999.

The day-cons do not play in your favor, but the brightness of the fountain brings life to this photo. : 18:

Too bad your picture is in backlighting, but with the jets of water that sparkle in the sunlight, she is very beautiful, congratulations and thank you Ninik for the ride.
