Actually, I also think that it is the fruit of a beech, but the fruit (flour) is inside. The set, as here, is a cup. However, I don't know what plant you have photographed.

Actually Ninik, after checking on the Internet, it is actually a beechnut, fruit of the beech tree. The faînée also refers to the sowing of the natural beech. Thank you.

This seed seems to have fallen from a tree above the bush photo taken. is it not a beechnut, fruit of the beech ???
