The Pistachio mastic tree (Pistacia lentiscus) is a classic of the flora of scrubland. This perennial shrub, thornless, very branching and very fragrant, loves to grow on arid land. Its fruit is red globular as the photo shows beautifully. The wood, once used to extract a sort of putty, is always popular with carpenters. We also removed from our prodigal shrub whose essence is used in perfumery. Good photography has allowed its identification: 3:: 1:.
