A beautiful unknown at the edge of the pond

Author 'Ondine' (Id 195392 ) : It is at the edge of the etang de Gruissan, but also at the edge of the sea, we discovered a shrub about two metres covered with these beautiful flowers for a beautiful bright pink. It looks like a mini-hibiscus flowers, but not quite.
Who knows what shrub this is ?
I hope you enjoy it as much as me

I would have said 'lavatera shrub', but I think that given the latin name (Lavatera arborea) this is the same thing as 'purple tree' as they are called Nicole In any case beautiful shot, bright and colorful

Hello Mermaid, this beautiful flower nicely photographed is a 'Purple shaft' (Lavatera arborea (Malvaceae) ).
It is a plant of coastal robust to the stem woody, which bears large rounded leaves with 5 to 7 lobes, wrinkled, or corrugated, which help keep the moisture in a habitat, the more dry ; it is a biennial that measure between 1m and 2m50.
As regards its flowers, they are in the cup, magenta pink, deep with dark lines, which radiate from the centre, which is blackish anthers pale pink ; these leaves when they are lobed, downy (in his youth) with a below, pale green.
We can meet on the coast, the beaches of pebbles and sand, the cliffs, the land and the rocks.
It blossoms from June to September ; its fruit is called 'Méricarpe Angular'.
Here, Misty, what can I say about this beautiful purple and thank you for the present.

Nothing Misty, I'm having fun trying to find all these beautiful unknown ; you know, even if it is not done but if they are in sufficient number, you can arrange to take a feet, for the seeds, otherwise, it will have to wait until the end of flowering end of September ; if you have spotted the places ; I don't think we tell you something if you take a flower or two, just to get the seeds, for my part, I had spotted a flower that I still don't know the name in the middle of a field of miscanthus, single, unhappy, I've taken it but didn't like the replanting that I had made from back home and here, curiously, it has taken from the hair of the beast, she is at the stage buttons, I'll post it when it is in bloom
