A curiosity of Dresden Germany

Author 'Perronnet Catherine' (Id 235550 ) : I know this photo is far from being a masterpiece, but I try anyway you the post because it gives a glimpse of an ice cream shop in Dresden : the 'Pfunds Melkerei' founded in 1880, which has been designated as the most beautiful dairy in the world in 1998. The walls are entirely covered in porcelain of Saxony, depicting scenes of pastoral life. This is beautiful. She has worked for a long time but is now a museum.

Excellent shot from the point of view of technique. It makes perfectly the enormous work of ceramics and the richness of the decoration. I am also extremely happy that it became a museum and not stayed for a pastry. Indeed, can we at the same time eat eyes and enjoy a pastry ?

Thank you for all Gilbair, but your greed led you led in the wrong direction : originally this store was a creamery : we tasted nothing, but we bought milk, butter, and cheese !

Thank you for this beautiful discovery, and for the comments of Daniel has given us additional explanations. Fortunately, this heritage has been preserved for the pleasure of the eyes.

You can't say that the photo central of the epoch is not getting value. The decoration of porcelain, which is great, frescos, mouldings with these 2 pillars welcome with perfection, this place of inestimable value to the former crémiers. Bravo Cathy for this photo beautiful it was really worth the detour.

Not easy probably seen the étroiteté of the place. I have learned the following by going on the internet, thank you Catherine.

Thank you to this farmer Paul Gustav Leander Pfund who had the idea to create this dairy.
The tiles in the neo-Renaissance style manufactured by Villeroy & Boch has been produced in collaboration with the artists of the city. The microbiologist and doctor, Walther Hesse initiated the introduction of pasteurization in the dairy Pfund.

Thank you and Danièle. My goal, in fact, when I post pictures is, often, that those who are interested to deepen the subject, because I do not have the space to develop : you've done it, it is super ! Have a good evening.

The work of the ceramists is exceptional, and the creamery has 4 large rooms decorated the same way. Thank you for all Josy.

Whoa ! What beauty for a creamery. It deserves to be preserved and to be so well photographed to get to us. I don't want to straighten, not to lose the beautiful detail. TB.

I've thought a lot about you, Ninik taking this photo without the back and when I saw the outlook ! But you're right : straighten them would have hurt the overall look. Thank you for your understanding.

Cathy, it is not necessary to feel worthless. What you watch is a masterpiece. What a magnificent work for the minutiae of the decorations and the harmony of the tones. What a pleasure for the customer to buy the butter in such creamery. Thank You Cathy.
