A small corner of nature preserve

Author 'Jofu' (Id 244769 ) : We finished our photo output in a place more wild than the banks of the Vienne at Chatellerault. I used a ND filter to get a longer exposure time to make the surface of the water milky ; I know that some people like and others don't like. Has your keyboards to give your opinion .

A snapshot, interesting to analyze. The corner of nature was chosen to do this kind of test. The ND filter smooth already the movements, you had good light which does not alter the colors. However, there must have been some wind because the green foliage of the centre and of young poplars in the background are blurred. I think the pause was a little long, but that is just my opinion. I have a UV filter Hoya HM that is mounted on my lens to protect the lens, it smooth very slightly the water that trembles. I have a ND filter that I don't use hardly because it takes a lot of light and I'm in an area very windy. So either I use a filter or I do a long exposure, not 2, except sunsets and calm and bright. As Jean-mi, I put a bit of contrast on a normal landscape. Your shot is not ugly, just the smoothness on the foliage that is boring for the natural of the place. I like to try it, thank you Joel. :1

Thank you for your long comment Dan. The installation of 8s is actually not very long, some of my colleagues have chosen longer. If it is not long enough, the rendering 'milky' will be less visible. Of course there was a bit of wind that was moving the leaves ; they are necessarily blurred with a pose of 8s. I'm not saying that I'm a fan of long exposures but this is an exercise that allows you to have other results .

Hello Joël, I like long exposures on landscapes, some of which are even dream. Rendering the milk is not unpleasant, I was trying to understand the settings of the speed in spite of the ND filter used because I do other tests with the mine. So I will do the year long exposure to see what it gives me. I will perhaps even worse, it is also possible. have a good weekend and see you soon my friend.

It is a wild place that the long exposure makes it a little romantic. Thank You Guylaine.

A great success with this long exposure, the river is well framed, I love it

Lovely landscape very smoothly. I joined against the other comments on the fact that the nature represented to the state of the original is very beautiful with its reflections and not to deform it.
But your test art is nice.

Usually I don't like to transform the reality, but in this case, I appreciate the silky look of the water surface. Thank You Didier.

It is true that the milky appearance brought out the landscape of the real. Thank You Françoise.

Beautiful photo of this small corner of the tranquil greenery at the water's edge, full of tones of soft green and softness in general, including the river, but so, too little reflection, and the ripples of the water is not 'nature', also, I will admit that it has changed a bit.

Here I appreciate the exposure time, it brings a great smoothness in the set of this photo.

A lot of sweetness with these tender greens. The long exposure still comes out smooth. I love the long exposures, but this changes a bit.

Some do not like the long exposures that distort the reality, but the milky appearance of the water makes the landscape more sweet. Thank You Mireille.

The milky appearance of the water makes this landscape even more sweet, and blends well with the tender green of the vegetation in the spring

Make the landscape more gentle, and it is the purpose of this exercise ; the landscape becoming more unreal, you like or don't like. Thank You Mady.

I like a lot the angle of view that emphasizes the tranquility of this beautiful place, the gradation of soft colors and I think the effect of 'milky' is successful, but personally I prefer the natural, of course.

I am not a fan of milky water but I appreciate the vegetation that is reborn with full of shades of tender green different.

It actually takes away from the reality, this is why you and others are not a fan. All tastes are in nature . Thank You Ninik.

I like this milky effect on the surface of the water, which is even more important with the magnitude of the movement, I would have added a bit of contrast (this is a mania on my part) to this relaxing landscape, bravo. (TB)

I thought that add contrast would be detrimental to this milky appearance. Thank you for your passage.
