Author 'Domi_desbiolles' (Id 187231 ) : I don't hide the fact that the discovery of the ile de Re has for me been disappointing. In my eyes it is not worth, nor of Oleron, nor Noirmoutiers. Only the village of St martin de Ré seemed to me to be pleasant. Here is a small alley.

Having passed all my school holidays on the island the equivalent of 3 or 4 solid years, I know very well and yet I have no memory of half-timbered houses, probably the only of the island, saint Martin hosts the oldest houses, which are moreover higher than in the rest of the island, this prevents the sun to better penetrate into this alleyway and it is a shame that a few hollyhocks do égaye, also, knowing of Oléron, I disagree totally fake even if I'm not objective, Re has a unit of landscape and architectural much better preserved and the requirements of the building permit are draconian, now it is necessary to avoid July and August and know a number of preserved areas like Loix and its marshes, la couarde, saint clement of the whales, kit shirt, the conch and the natural reserve of proud of ; I'm not the only one to think so otherwise how to explain that the real estate there is 2 or 3 times more expensive than in Oléron.
