Author 'Perronnet Catherine' (Id 246685 ) : Now here is a street of Saint-Véran, the highest municipality inhabited Europe. The typical houses have been restored to show the habitat of time and designed according to the climatic conditions and the way of life : animals and people were sleeping in the same place in the winter. Some of which are inhabited.

It is a very nice photo of mountain village with surely is a very nice view of the field ! It is an image that I imagine with a lot of snow, there are probably more people in the winter to the ski, although this is Val-Thorens, the highest ski resort in France ! Thank you and Catherine !

Thank you for your interest. Saint-Véran is considered as the highest 'common' of Europe. Val Thorens belongs to the commune of Belleville, and is a 'ski resort' artificial without town hall, so different from the case of Saint-Véran.

I had no idea that there was no town hall in Val Thorens, apart from altitude, there is no comparison between these places, you're right ! Thank you Catherine for your precision, I am a little lost in imagining Saint-Véran under the snow, it is beautiful too.

This village is well worth the journey Ferdinand, but it is better to go there in the summer, when it is animated. Thank you for your visit.

Your photo shows well how these homes were designed I've always seen Saint-Véran in the summer, so lively in The winter it should be more of it

Yes, I think that in the summer and in the winter there must be animation, but it is a pity that there is no trade in-house : at the beginning of September everything was closed and many empty houses. Thank you for your interest.

Ah Saint-Véran ! I would have recognized among a thousand in this small village. Have you taken the fountain in the wood in the photo ? Thank You Cathy.

No, Josy I mostly made houses and sundials, but I've seen the fountain. Thank you for your passage.

The site is superb but a bit deserted, except for a couple of months of the year. Thank you for your interest in Domi.

Beautiful angle of view that shows us both a cabin almost full, and a balcony in cons-diving on a nice mountain background and blue sky, .

The village is very pretty though practically deserted when we went there and the site is beautiful. Thank you for all Ninik.

Saint-Véran, the highest in Europe, which attracts many visitors, it is always a pleasure to visit this village that feels good old time. Nice shot, bravo (TB)

Yes, the highest common inhabited Europe, but, when we passed by a beautiful day in early September all the shops were already closed and the village practically deserted. So I was disappointed : this very pretty village is more of a 'showcase' than a true place of life. Thank you for your visit.
