I come back on this photo. Coming from Poitiers, when you are driving on the first bridge over the Dordogne, you can see on the right the bridge of Cubzac-les-Ponts. This is what I found two days ago .

Thank You Grouse. To be able to photograph the bridge at this location, it must first have spent a good part of the ride, but I know that you are sporting and this hike is very pleasant.

Jofu has found the solution : it is of stone arches that serve as the access ramp to steel bridge road to cross the Dordogne at Cubzac-les-Ponts. Thank you for your comment Manu.

What are the arcades, which give the impression that one is in a gothic cathedral.

Thank you for your passage : in fact it is of stone arches that serve as ramp access to a metal bridge in my area. Putting them at the end of the arcades you see this line, and in the back of the metal. You really get the feeling of being in a gothic cathedral : it is gorgeous !!!

I come back to Cathy . I have thought about it and I thought that finally it could only be a bridge. I am documented and I found. It is an abutment (stone) the metal bridge over the Dordogne at Cubzac-les-Ponts built by Gustave Eiffel. Is that right ? What have I gained ? Thank you for this year, Cathy ; tonight, I learned something .

Joel, you are a perceptive and curious : it is this : we made the hike to the bridges of Cubzac (because there is also a railway bridge) and I took the photo at the beginning of the series of arches of stone, which serves as the access ramp to the road bridge of metal, built for the first time not Gustave Eiffel, destroyed during the second world war and rebuilt by his grandson in 1946-47 ! This is splendid : it has the feel of being in a gothic cathedral ! Thank you for playing.

> Jofu [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Feb 19, 2014
The symmetry is perfect, the columns are massive, and the arches are a beautiful color. This photo is a tribute to this noble material that is stone . Where is it ? This is not a church ; the metal structure that I see in the background intrigues me. Would this be the underside of a bridge ? Unlikely. On the 25th of September, you'd have to be hiking in the bordeaux region, where ?
