Artichoke D'or

Author 'Mady' (Id 201510 ) : This flower, photographed at the jardin alpin du Lautaret (Hautes Alpes) is not yet open, is a Leuzée Rhapontique (Leuzéa Rhapontica) (item-to-create - thank-you Web) or Rhapontique scarieux (Rhaponticum scariosum) quite rare and protected that grows on ground silica. It is also known as artichoke gold in view of its shape
It will be topped by an inflorescence of pink or purple larger than that of the leuzée conifer, (on EIF), with which it should not be confused, whose heads are in the shape of pine cones.
