Nice photo and beautiful bird with a bright red. Actually this fine specimen must not pass preview. Just a small note on the sharpness a little too forced and mostly visible on the legs of the bird and on the wall.

Hello Nicole, the parakeets are my birds aviaries favorite, the red is superb even if his name is not parrot, there is an air of family.

This small parrot in the colors bright red with a few feathers of blue is a 'Lori ' scarlet' (Eos bornea) - Red Lory in English. The shape of the beak and the circle orbital blue are very characteristic also. A net and a splendid bird, beautifully presented : bravo Nicoledesplat is thank you. This bird, lori, scarlet is very much present in the tropical greenhouse of Beauval .

Why you're gone Beauval it's not easy to shoot these birds in freedom often hidden by foliage, towering, but thank you for your response, I had seen it on one of my books ornitho. But under a different name, on the photo where I've thought to recognize and which put me in default is that he had the wing all black and not blue, hence my hesitation

Oh he is in the process of executing a few dance steps it looks like, he is funny. And it is beautiful this plumage red. But not I see that he has entered something in his paw that he will bring to his beak then. Thank You, Nicole.

Your specimen, it bows to the right, but its plumage reveals a temperament of toreador, angry or 'gaucho'. Beautiful capture !

It is said that the birds which door the red would be recognized by the experts because of the birds quite 'aggressive' but it is still a superbly beautiful, thank you Ghislain for your comment
