Blackcap female

Author 'Jaja06' : This morning in Saint-Jeannet (south of France), it was raining almost and the warblers took their breakfast in the persimmon. I took the opportunity to get out the 400mm lens, tripod and click, click, click... This photo, however, was recardé.

Overcast the edge of the rain+the subject in the shade+ 400 mm= fall of contrast. Limit monochrome. In the film it would have left a bit of neg in the soup to boost a little. But that's... help the computer to push the image a little in digital.
Retouch the image to the branch is not serious.
It fault take this photo as a good workout.

A image is really too dark, with a branch crossing the body of this beautiful bird, too bad. But with a 400mm lens on a tripod you could have done much better. You could at least push the ISO to 500 or 600.

Thank you for your response jaja06, and I would like to clarify that there is no animosity in my remarks, but simply the desire to tell the truth, it will be beneficial for your pictures to come.

A former member FEI died (unfortunately) to have said :
This warbler would need more brightness.
And with editing software, delete the branch that bar a good part of the bird would be nice.

No doubt it would have had to give a shot of clarity on the whole. The specialists of the editing may try the erase of the branch but... not easy. for the sharpness of this female

Actually, there is no doubt to the clarity of the photo. I take note... however, please emphasize the sharpness of the warbler, as I have an old 400mm lens Nikkon that in 20 years, so no AF and no VR. I have just visited your gallery, and it is gorgeous. Greeting and happy holidays.
