The castle houses the precious Tapestry of the Apocalypse, famous tapestry dating from the Middle Ages, reporting the apocalypse according to st. John ; hangings carried out by the weaver royal Nicolas Battle to the designs of Hennequin of Bruges. On 10 January 2009, at around 16h, a fire ravaged the royal house. It could be due to a malfunction of an electric heater. Thanks to the responsiveness of the employees, the precious tapestries have been put away and no work has been destroyed. The roof of the building is in smoke. The damage is estimated at 2 million euros.
