The chapel is still in business and church services are held there intermittently. Notice the beauty of the building and its spare style and noble. Another chapel of the same style is at Fort near the redoubt of the City of Lille.

: 1: Thanks Jean-Mi to be appreciated and noticed this picture. There are two chapels like this in Lille (North). Always a religious activity intermittently at the Citadel in Lille. The other in the square cut of that is no longer for church, but that visit during Heritage Days. Good luck and see you soon for more photos. Friendships. Marcel

LNA Hello. Thank you for appreciating and rated this picture. This frame as all restoration work is done by journeymen under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture. The work is remarkable and beautiful. The chapel also houses several graves and plaques (names) of officers of the 43 Infantry Regiment who fell in battle. This framework adds to the serenity of the place. Stay tuned for more photos. Friendships. Marcel.

I also like the beautiful structures and everything related to wood. But unfortunately we must pay attention to the origin of wood as more and more forests (eg primary) are slaughtered.

Josy thank you for appreciating this photo. The chapel is the Jesuit style and will receive from 1682, as a chaplain, who resides permanently at the Citadel in Lille. The chapel has been renovated several times. The structure was rebuilt as originally. The interior light restores the nobility and beauty of this structure. Good continuation and see you soon for more photos. Friendships. Marcel.

Martine, Hello. The structure was rebuilt several times. I think the wood is from the Oak Forest Tronçais in central France. These forests are managed by the NFB or large landowners. Most of these oaks have 300 years before their operation. So precious wood, managed and monitored in terms of plantations. The French forest represents a quarter of the European forest and forest management rules are very stringent. I'll leave it to admire this beautiful frame. The photo is taken by myself for members of FEI. Friendships. Marcel.

This wood frame is remarkable, and certainly unique. We see also in Britain, though different from it. What a job! Thank you Marcel for us to enjoy such beauty.
