Author 'Annie.reymondie' (Id 89095 ) : The "beach" Copacabana: the "little St Trop. De Bolivia! Not to be confused with Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, which was originally called Sacopenapã. In the mid-nineteenth century, it was renamed after the construction of a chapel, living in a replica of the Virgin of Copacabana, a small village on Lake Titicaca in Bolivia. In 1754 a Benedictine monk, Antonio de Desterro Malheiro when in distress off the coast of Brazil took the promise that if it came out alive, he would give the name of his village where it fails.
