Cormorant 20100612 Great Cormorant

Author 'Crabecanoe' (Id 119243 ) : Thursday, May 10, 2010. Don Lock (North). A cormorant is posted at the exit of the large lock DON. I managed to take two, three photos. Increasingly cormorants ply the Upper Deûle. So it is a sign that water quality is improving and there are more and more fish.

Jean Claude Hello. Thank you for the nice comment. In fact the arrival of cormorants recently means they are a habitat to their liking. And every time a species of plant or animal ecology that expands it wins. Forty years ago on the same river there were no fish and no bird. Since around the shoreline and bird after it had over 90 different species of birds. Bonne continuation! Crab Canoe Marcel Morel.

The appearance of cormorants on Deûle is a very good sign. Water is a quality that continues to improve. The cessation of heavy industry upstream of the river begins to bear fruit as the lagoon here and there undertaken on the banks. The fish are sufficient in number feed the new arrivals (cormorants). It is clear that these birds are causing havoc on fish farming areas. Deûle The River has its own habitat and cormorants are a contribution to the biota of this ecosystem. For it is cons a bird which is a remarkable diver with a beak suited for fishing. Thanks for your encouragement. In the next photo. Best regards! Crab Canoe. Marcel Morel.

Actually I forgot to introduce my cormorant, he called GONTRAN. He has delivered a remarkable black with dark purple and green iridescent. With his friends, they began to settle around the River. After cohabitation with herons and sapiens (fishermen) it may be another story. Thank you for the encouragement. In the next photo. Regards! Crab Canoe Marcel Morel.

This is an opportunity that allowed me to photograph this cormorant. I was in recognition of the river and at the same time he comes to ask a few dozen meters. I hope to take more pictures. Thank you for the encouragement. In the next photo. Regards! Crab Canoe Marcel Morel.

The water color is beautiful, identical to that of the eye of the cormorant. A little lack of definition but you had to be away. A very pretty picture. : 18:

The cormorant was about ten meters, but the newcomers are constantly on the alert. Not easy to photograph. Thank you for the comments and advice. Yours! Crab Canoe Marcel Morel.
