I come back It would be more to the 'bourrines vendéennes' and painted white

Beautiful little white house with a thatched roof is fastened well, because of the wind may be very different from our cottages in brittany but also pleasant. I see myself well for a small living room

It is located at the edge of the water and, in effect, there is always the wind.

What a beautiful little cottage, simple as must be its proud owners, unfortunate that it is so close to the asphalt road, it would have been so beautiful, surrounded by greenery, a small foot ashore for the holidays I guess, too cute, j' a lot, and you had reason to participate in the contest of the month, bravo Cathy and thank you

Thank You, Nicole. In fact the road is not too transient and I guess that when the house was built, it was only a small path of land.

This cottage is beautiful with the bottom of the atlantic ocean. It makes you want to stay there ! Congratulations Cathy and thank you for sharing. Without being a criticism, I find it a pity that the annex, to the right, has not yet the finish of stubble... without doubt !

You're right, but I guess they put thatch on the populated areas, to which you allude was intended to be a kind of shelter. Thank you for your passage.

Very pretty and more modest. Difficult to compare, they are different apart from their thatched roof.
It seems to me that it is more representative of Ireland.
and thank you for this beautiful shot Cathy.

Of course, one meets very often cottages similar to the one in Ireland. The other visit because it is unique in its kind.

All the modest charm of a Ireland pure and real !
No comparison between the two ' cottages '...

You're right : the only common point is the roof of thatch. The first house is an exception. All the others resemble it. Thank you for your passage.

> Gede 14 [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Oct 06, 2015
The occupant of this dwelling are certainly more humble than those of the other cottage but it still holds a lot of charm thank you.

Of course, the other was only the week-end house of a wealthy landowner of the early Nineteenth century, when it housed a family.

> Gipsy34 [G] [P] [C] [B] [F] >Reply Oct 06, 2015
Me personally I prefer the latter. What I didn't like on the other photo it was the white sky. Here it is beautiful. Thank You Cathy.

This small house is much more representative of the cottages that we meet in Ireland, and, God be praised, the sky has made an effort !

It is nice indeed. A pretty small house (the Aran Islands) old, however, the hot and red shutters. Curious, she has a bit of a 'style basque'... ? ! The cottage irish somewhat 'old-fashioned' speaks to me also when it is constructed of local stone and covered, like the one you show us, thatch. I believe that there are in the Island of Achill in the West of Ireland... ?) You have perhaps not hitherto been. Bravo Cathy. Thank you. Marc.

In 25 days we had the time to do all the tour of Ireland which is not a large country, and I saw the islands of Achill since the famous 'Atlantic Wild Way' the coast road round Ireland. In fact, there are houses with thatched roof anywhere in Ireland. Thank you for your interest.

Very good Catherine, and I understand that a little more than 70 ooo kilomètres2 can be done in one short step. Yes, I am still interested in the tours, travel the discovery of other countries. (The passage of the noteras my blunder about the 'lime'... ) have a Good evening, Marc.

I feel you mocking with your 7000 km2 !!! It is sure that we have not journeyed all the small roads of this beautiful country, but we have still a lot to visit and hike, and I know that if we return we will go to the Donegal, Connemara and the South-West. Do not worry for the 'lime', we all do careless or typing.

Hello Catherine. No, I do not laugh, do not fear, I appreciate you a lot and you do not lack of respect. We can have a little humor, be playful, it does no harm. But to compare it to the France that is 550 000 km.2 70 000 km.2 of Ireland appear to be 'derisory' you understand. So, should in spite of everything to make the tour of this country to see, to review of things forgotten or poorly learned, to discover yet and we don't discover any effect. Look at in a museum, a private museum in an exhibition... It often takes several visits to see, review and see again what we had escaped. In a book, it is exactly the same thing one reads, one reads again and one realizes that things are different, that we no longer have the same perception, etc, Thank you. Good day to you. Marc.

You're absolutely right, and it is for this reason that I intend to come back in some corners of Ireland. I have the sense of humor and know me make a fool of myself : it is necessary to live in society !

> Nenfer13 [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Oct 06, 2015
Much more modest indeed, but she is careful charm anyway. A beautiful image, this time with a blue sky dotted with white clouds. And then it makes holiday memories.

The sky was nice with me this time and you have avoided the work ! The house is more than the other that we often encounter in Ireland !

Still funny these 2 doors in front of the house. A lovely cottage, and its roof also out of the ordinary. I would choose the other if I had to do it. Beautiful photo.

It is difficult to prefer one to the other ; they are not to be classified in the same category. However, it is most photogenic for me. I like its great simplicity. Thank You Cathy. Do you have a third one ?

You're right, these two cottages have in common that the thatched roof : the former belonged to a rich owner who used it to house her guests and to spend a day in the countryside. It served as the main house to a family and is currently occupied by a painter. I'll stop there for the cottages irish ! Now we will move on to something else, but we are still in Ireland !
