Author 'Denis246' (Original: Grognon) : The first goal of cropping is to remove the right part of the image, and leave the bridge open. This opens immediately the prospects for the seagull. Keep the right bank closes any horizon. Here, the invitation to the voyage takes shape. This is perhaps not the intention of Grouchy at the beginning, it is an interpretation that I propose. The cropping square has the advantage of also removing the chimney to the left which overload the image unnecessarily. Finally, I confess I moved a bit the seagull in order to ensure the balance of the image.
