I like much this photo, an elephant age, fatigue also happens to animals...: 10: even if it is sad, it is the reality. Their fate is perhaps not what there best in zoos but they will improve much and sometimes of the reintroductions for certain species that breed in captivity. All the best. Francoise (fmdv).

It is true that it is not usual to see sleep with the elephants... all In all this photo is remarkable, thank you Hélène for sharing, I love it !

I was very scared that he would be dying this elephant. Phew, this is not the case !
> Mininaur [G] [P] [C] >Reply Mar 06, 2012
Effectively, fortunately that zoos are there, there are great people behind it ; but I have visited zoos that looked nothing like this name ;
In April, I am on holiday in Brittany and I tried to go to Branféré (the school Nicolas Hulot), my daughter went there a week with his girlfriend of CM2, all the children are pleased, I hope me also.

He looks so old, the poor... He looks exhausted, and maybe he thinks already at the 'Cemetery of elephants' as in the song ?
> Mininaur [G] [P] [C] >Reply Mar 05, 2012
Instead, I think it is very sad, this elephant, zoos, unfortunately, are not adapted to this animal which needs space to survive
This photo makes me a lot of trouble.

Hello Mininaur, I think like you about the zoological parks, but in another sense, happily, they are there because they contribute to the survival of species in danger of extinction.

This elephant is very clear and his posture is pleasant. The contact with the sand also allows him to get rid of the parasites and it also has the right to rest . Bravo Hdeledicque for sharpness and thank you for sharing this.

One rarely has the opportunity to see an elephant in this position, you have done well to show us your shot that is superb. Bravo and thanks for sharing.

A good photo , me who thought that elephants do lay down ever except to die, and I am delighted to see the opposite.
> Roberta [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Mar 03, 2012
He rests, he dreams of what he had certainly never experienced, and it is true that it looks already old, but not so proud, I'm sure he is happy to live.
Very beautiful photo, thank you.

you did well to post this wonderful close-up photo very clear !!! It is true that it seems cruel to snatch all of these animals to their natural environment.

A position little ordinary, which brings a plus to this good portrait Jean-Mi.

Bravo for this capture of an elephant lying down that are not often seen, in full nap.
> Kasshan [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Mar 03, 2012
Your photo is full of tenderness . I like to think that he is not sad, but he enjoys the benefits of a good nap.
> Daniel78 [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Mar 02, 2012
It must not be very young this elephant and it is true that it gives the impression of being sad. Beautiful shot. A super big plan. for this portrait.
