Farm

Author 'Boucher Marc dit de Meilh' (Id 115281 ) : Old farm Isere adobe or mud. Many of our buildings were built and, in the past. The mud is a pasty mixture of earth, gravel, straw. With this 'concrete' is realized natural bricks left to dry naturally or with the help of a wood oven. The bricks, they built the house. The bricks were solidified with a glaze of the same clay and sometimes lime ... The rendering was done well and mostly painted with whitewash. The houses are very healthy, were comfortable in both the acoustic and thermal insulation. In this photograph the human habitation is located on the left: lower ground floor kitchen (rather crude) a pantry, an alcove on the first floor and sometimes one or two bedrooms. The rest (body barn) is composed of stable, barn, sheep, etc.. And over a barn used to store hay for the animals in winter. Marc Boucher said Meillan. : 19:

Nice picture, nice scenery but the roof is very quirky. What calm. Normandy is not because cows are not white and red.

Cheepp thank you. Yes, the roof was damaged a lot the last two or three years. The owner certainly could easily repair the roof, but did not. It's a shame because some tree trunks have largely sufficient to maintain the roof and take cover in places. Anyway, probably legacies I do not know what else? ... It's often like this from us unfortunately. Marc. : 18:
