Flight of seagulls in squadrons

Author 'Denis246' (Id 202197 ) : As the photo you linked has been criticised for its square format, I went to see yesterday if a squadron of seagulls don't fly over Maine at sunset, to offer a panoramic this time. In this season, it is common to see them. The difficulty is that they fly low enough, and are difficult to discern, and they do not mount it until the last moment before moving on to the top of the bridge on which I find myself. There is not enough time for 2 shots...

Photo magical and beautiful ! I love these silhouettes that stand out on these beautiful hues of the evening. Hats off to the photographer

So there, I love it ! Everything is very beautiful, the colors, the silhouettes of the birds, and the panoramic format suits him very well.

A forma pan that will certainly please to present this flight of seagulls at dusk. TB+.

No need to make a second shot, as it is very well.

I like the panoramic format but I also love the close up with the colours of the sky ! If I pass at the right time, I'll try to do the same thing to the bridge over the Loire at Amboise... It is true that at this moment, one has the benefit of super sunsets on the centre of France ; but, I don't know if I'll gulls,

By removing the white stripes it is the most beautiful effect on my screen to the bottom black The gradient of colors between dark blue and orange-red is very beautiful and seagulls that sail in the middle there stand out. TB.

Very nice photo with the flight of seagulls on the background of the setting sun. Thank you for this beautiful photo.

This single shot suits me very well. The first photo I had no not much, the flight in its context is full of poetry, I love the delicate frieze formed by the line of trees, including some cedars, it seems to me - as well as the arabesques formed by the birds. Two specimens feet have felt the need to heat the wings. TB+. I would have deleted a small part of the left, which in my opinion increases slightly the whole, the frieze from tapering

As for Julie, I'll be editing the original, a version centered on 16/10, and one in square format.

How ? You are returned on the scene accompanied by the seagulls for our greatest pleasure ? Thank you. Grouse and Cranky do not agree, I do not mind. This cliché has its share of mystery ; where are the birds ? Where are they going ? Have they been frightened ? The strip of trees is important. The framing is well chosen, and the sky is very beautiful . Your analyses are always very well-written, then, as said, Julie, you're going to be emulated .

In fact this is not exactly the same place. The seagulls seem to come from the Loire, a 2 or 3 km. But now, I'm at the top of the Maine, a small river of ten miles, which runs through Angers. What I cannot explain is that in this season, they will go to the north !

It is very beautiful, Denis ! Silhouettes of dream... Personally, I would off-center the bird...

You're not the only one to claim the offset. So I am editing a version off-center.

Ah ! I'm going to be painful...
First of all, this photo enchants me, perhaps more classic than the other but otherwise more talking, it escapes, it escapes...
The frieze of the shadows is fabulous..
Well, I would have attempted an intermediary between the square and the 16/9 eme.
A 16/10 with a slight offset of the flight on the left.. Just cut the part of left, in fact...
This is just a suggestion to try, with no guarantee of better compared to this one I love..
Mistrust you, you teach us to analyze, we will be without pity.. !!!
TB+.

Ben no you are not painful. I appreciate the look of each.
So the 16/10 ? No problem : I am editing the original, a version 16/10 and for fun, a version square !

Since you put two pictures in comparison, I must say that I prefer the first. You are an ace in the square format.

It is nice (what a sunset is not) but more empty, less original and less percussion.
The softness of this photo is not worth the strength of the first.

> Gélinotte [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Dec 09, 2013
Super nice, I prefer the latter and I would not know how to explain it... Finally, I think I like the dark band of trees against the light, it gives relief, width,...: 1:
