Happy new year to all and thanks again for the feedback.
I am in agreement for the problem of the first plan, I often take my photos with 1/3 of sky and 2/3 ground because I like the feeling of 'see the way before me'. Alas, I don't always have the time to
crop
after the fact. And then, it is true that I could have cut a good part of the foreground that contributes nothing.
For fans of technical data, the lens is a Sigma 24 mm F/2. 8-mount AIS and the aperture was F/8, not F/1 ( !!!) as indicated in the
EXIF
data.

The lights, the illuminations and reflections that highlight the beauty, the night, the old port of Galway. Bravo Michelgalway and thank you.
Happy holidays of Christmas and new year to you and all your family.

These contrasting colors and these reflections give a scene surreal and magical.
A small downside : the dock in the foreground seems to be too far.
