Grebe Lapwing 3 Great Crested Grebe

Author 'Nicole.barberon' (Id 189660 ) : The legs of the grebe, set very far back, as the propellers at the prow of a boat are remarkable. They provide propulsion in the water. The positioning of these legs makes these birds almost incapable of locomotion on land. I had never before seen tabs of this beautiful bird when one of them, located near the shore, did some stretching for my greatest pleasure.

I didn't think a bird could have such legs !!! Bravo for the taking... and I imagine it still requires a great patience to get such patience... At least you are enjoying your rest on the banks to watch them ? Combine the delights, is this not happiness ?

Amazing image of a bird curious. We even have the impression that he is doing the freestyle, if we judge it by its left wing lifted in a movement characteristic of crawler.

> Ondine [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jan 11, 2013
Beautiful taken at the right time ! I had already noticed the funny large legs of grebes, but then I thought that it was defeathered and there was a feather, the odd planted in the behind, too funny ! It is a beautiful stretch, it is flexible to the gentleman, a beautiful gymnast !
> Lumixane [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jan 11, 2013
Still a scoop, Nicole, your photo is well funny. So that's what gives the grebe, this small air leaning forward when it swims, the implantation of the legs. Agree with the vision of Isa, this could be an arrow - tipped trilobés... And if it was a propeller engine... Your subject appears proud of his shot, he has reason to be Intro very informative.
> Helein [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jan 11, 2013
Wow Nicole the grebe gave you a demonstration of one of his legs excellent-making that you present us here and thank you, Nicole

Nice catch, Nicole . In fact, it looks like he is actually shooting an arrow in the behind . This 'helix' is very strange and seems to be a foreign body.
I like a lot . Furthermore, your subject is clear and well-stitched

I've never had the opportunity to see it up close ; it is a beautiful bird with its curious legs. In the cartoons, she would rotate her legs like propellers. thank you.
> Benett [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jan 11, 2013

> Labrume [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jan 11, 2013
It's good to be able to take the leg and thrown. These birds have funny legs.
> Candy [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jan 11, 2013
Hello Nicole, it's funny to me the grebe, with its raised leg. We want to ride on its back and manipulate the tab to move the boat. Amazing this bird is comfortable on the water but not on land.
> WebMaster FEI [G] [P] [C] [B] [F] >Reply Jan 11, 2013
Awesome, I wonder how much it fits in glove . A pity that the weather conditions were not a little bit better that day to give a little more light to this scene funny.
