Heart of rose tremiere

Author 'Jofu' (Id 241309 ) : The hollyhocks are starting to bloom in the Charente Maritime. Here are the result of a test on the proxi-photo (to be distinguished from the macro-picture) . Here is the first critical, the mine : the heart is not bright enough and if an insect had the idea to invite, it would have been more alive.

I'm not a fan of extreme close-ups but you have done a beautiful performance

I simply tried to do what it took to enter in the framework of the monthly contest for my club. Thank You Mireille.

At first, it makes me think of an umbrella ! Nice framing, sharpness impeccable, in short... a lovely work

'Sharpness impeccable' ? Really ? If this is the case I am delighted. Thank You Monique.

The detail is well framed for us to admire. Bravo Joel

It was this kind of framing for a 'proxi-photo'. Thank You Francis.

Kudos for this heart of trémière that you can detail his way

Excellent sharpness on this heart of hollyhock that we can see the pollen.

Beautiful proxi proxi is the term that refers to the photo that was taken at a ratio of 1:1. That is to say that a subject 1cm will be 1cm on the sensor.
The macro starts at 1:1 ratio and beyond (2:1 up to 5:1 for the mpe65 which makes great pictures), We can still increase the relationship with rings extension tubes but the light requirement will be huge.
For my photos, in most cases, I put my goal at 1:1 ratio.
In regard to the brightness on the heart of your rose, you can use the mode of spot metering and press the star key to store the area to be lit correctly.
With the opening 6. 3, you could do the MAP on the pistil and make it more clear (it looks like that the MAP has been made to the rear of the pistil)

Tu me rassures for the distinction proxi-macro . I used a foot and made the focus on the pistils but here I was using the self-timer of 2 s, and the wind was moving the flower. It may take a lot of things in 2 s. Thank you Helen.

I don't know the difference between the proxi photo and the macro : I'll find out. I am agree with you for the slight lack of brightness and I find that the pistil seems to be a bit 'shrunken'. However, the insect is absent cannot be a reproach and I love the sharpness of the texture of the flower and the movement of the ribs roses.

The pistil has the air 'shriveled' ; do you want to say that it seems to the narrow ? Yes, but it had to be a proxi-photo.
The proxi-photo : the magnification ratio is less than 1 (or 1:1). The subject on the photo is still smaller than the real subject. An insect measuring 2 cm in reality will have a length of 1 cm on the photo for example ; the zoom ratio is 1:2.
The macro-picture : the zoom ratio is equal to or greater than 1. The subject on the photo is larger than the actual topic. An insect measuring 5 mm in reality will have a length of 10 mm on the photo for example ; the zoom ratio is 2:1 (or 10:5). Thank You Cathy.

It is a cliché, which I like For the sharpness and the lighting of the heart you have the answer to improve As to the difference max/ proxi I know, but how do you fix that and know the magnification for the shooting

Thank you for your explanation Joel, I know what is a proxi now. For the pistil, I've rather the impression that it is flattened, but this comes very definitely to the style of photo that you have done.

I don't do macro to a lack of material suitable. For the proxy, I do not know the magnification ratio. I do what I can with the zoom to have this sense of closeness ; more here, I have cropped the photo to have this detail. Thank You Mady.

I would like to thank Jean-Paul but as I said, I would have preferred that the heart is better informed.
