Author 'Randonneur' : This photo was taken in the massif de la Sainte-Baume (Provence). Such a meeting during a walk is sufficiently rare to be immortalised. This is an if (seems to me) to the trunk totally denude. The masters of the art of the bonsai like to artificially reproduce this style: it is called the jin. I hope you enjoy this tree to the natural jin. It is exceptional.

Hello, It is not a question of If, but a Juniper. The Fi has practically disappeared from Provence, and it is found in the Forest of la Sainte Baume where there is the largest Yew in Europe (more than 20 metres !!) Around this tree in the photo is Pine and Rosemary (right foot) which indicates a Guarrigue incompatible with the environment of the FIS. Friendly Gilles www. Sainte-baume. En.

It is true it looks like a bonsai, I know nothing about that in the various varieties of trees, but this one is really special and it deserved the photo.
