It is possible Alle, but I bought it on e-bay and it is prohibited to sell ivory after a certain date (which I don't remember). By against this object being the beginning of the Twentieth century, it seems to me that the prohibition only intervened later. Thank you for your interest.

This is what I thought also, Catherine, this is not a criticism. In all cases, it is even more valuable precisely, something so old. Good weekend, kisses.

Beautiful object ; the container is as beautiful as the content, and even more. The background is a kimono or a decoration any other ? This object has its place in the page of the monthly contest. Thank you Cathy for sharing.

Thank you for your interest Joel. For the background I tried to find something reminiscent of the embroidery on the kimonos, female or japanese prints of spring flowers. Here it is a matter of patterns on a scarf in summer linen offered by my daughter.
