Koukaburra blue winged

Author 'Nicoledesplat' (Id 198376 ) : The 'angel of death', the 'Koukaburra blue winged' or more commonly known as 'martin-hunter blue winged' owes its name to the magnificence of his wings-blue, finely striated.
From the youngest age, the pups are introduced to hunting, diving to the ground, the bird seizes the prey in its beak.
It is then struck on a branch or dropped in mid-flight on a rock, and then swallowed.
At night, the family gathers in a dorm smelly due to the presence of old pieces of meat lining the nest
This bird lives in Oceania in the eucalyptus forests, savannas and woodlands.
It is a carnivore that weighs 370gr to 41cm ; it can live up to 18 years of age ; the female lays 2 to 5 eggs, which hatch after 25-26jrs. (Photo taken at Beauval) but the inverse of G. B45, I left the bird in his aviary, photo taken through his fence.

Surprising bird, but as you say so well, too good in spite of his boils, that seems a bit 'aggressive', more, he was nice, he stayed all the time where I was to make several shots through its ugly grilles a plague for photographers these fences, thank you, thank you

And it has a scream loud enough, that day, it was quiet, just a look a little bit haughty, but a small wonder with its elegant plumage of the wings blue, and this pretty cream and white on the chest, thank you again Nicole for your comment on this beautiful bird

It took me some time to have a photo to 'correct' with that bird,: 9: , between the fact that I wanted his face and the fence not to mention the crowd behind me, phew ! A manual adjustment quite complex, but I'm pretty satisfied with at least of this picture, thank you Daniel for your comment left under this photo

What beautiful plumage, especially the blue wings. But too bad for the background. Thank You, Nicole.

It is not easy to ISOlate this bird in the feathers if cut, I tried but it did not satisfy me and I'm given it's so hard to photograph, between the expectation of its facies, the fence and the crowd is relentless in the day ; in addition to the fine-tuning and manual ; because I didn't want to trace blackish screen on its beautiful plumage, then, I said to myself, so much worse for the bottom, I leave it as is, thank you Nadia for giving me your opinion on this photo

The sunken eyes, the beak turned up (finally) gives him a stern looks and when we know how he does it to feed, it leaves a little on the question of the character of this bird fortunately, he has a superb beautiful plumage, which softens all of this , it is not easy to take pictures of birds in a cage, a manual adjustment is often necessary, and it must take its time thank you Cathy for your comment left under this curious bird
