Leopard coming to hunt

Author 'Denis246' (Id 201586 ) : The hunting seems to have tired, but this leopard has managed to earn his food, that evening, in the dusk falling. A poor impala was the cost, which we guess a piece of the carcass is still warm in the back of the cat.

A beautiful photo with a subject that lends itself to the game, a story that begins with the hunger... Unfortunate impala !!!
> Isabelle S.B [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Nov 24, 2013
A decision worthy of a great reporter animal. Of course, the goal is important, but the eye and the know-how of the photographer are not foreign to the success of the photo. I am fascinated by the beautiful eyes what a perfect light, values. An image that I would like to make (TB+).

This cat is beautiful ! (of course, fed to the impala... It has the hair ! ). In addition the animal pose with a natural elegance worthy of the studios Harcourt, who know so well put in scene their subjects of the photo !

It is when you see shots like that you said that the stuff made when the same, 'a little difference' ! A fixed focal length opening at 2, 8 and the work is the skill of the photographer in addition
Beautiful beast and what a beautiful light
> Julicarm [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Nov 22, 2013
With such an objective for the brand and a full sensor, it verges on perfection, if one is not already in it...
Bow down, bravo

For info, this lens is older design, no motor integrated autofocus (so it doesn't go on all the brackets) and without stabilization. Its one huge advantage is its optical quality and its price. Has less than 1000 euros, it is the least expensive fixed focal length Nikon exceeding 100 mm.
> Patjoe [G] [P] [C] [B] [F] >Reply Nov 22, 2013
What a beautiful animal ! Your photo is perfect, shows all the beauty. The light falls just right highlights to his coat and his eyes.
Poor impala that has served as a treat to this bad boy hungry.

Yes, poor impala. I had already posted his sad end when the leopard has finished eating it 2 days later (photo attached).

Beautiful, Grrr ! We hear it almost 'purr'
I added black stripes to put it in the bottom of the screen and it is superb !

A beautiful set with a good combination of colors of the coat with those of the rest of the image, the look here is interesting, it brings even more to this good shot. (Note TB+) Jean-Mi.

Hello Denis, beautiful composition, despite the dusk. In its middle is fabulous.
> Jofu [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Nov 21, 2013
A beautiful light that stops on the back of the animal ; the black background allows you to put the pet in value in my opinion ; so I am not agree with The Cry.
> D.marsim [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Nov 21, 2013
Excellent shot, having regard to the conditions to capture such shot
> Gélinotte [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Nov 21, 2013
Waaaouh ! And in its natural environment ! That it is beautiful ! I read the previous comments, I have the explanation for the light, it highlights the animal on the bottom is very dark, for me it's a Denis246
> Claire.marinette [G] [P] [C] >Reply Nov 21, 2013

> La cri [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Nov 21, 2013
Ben ben ben... 't seem convenient, the pet !
> Syruloben [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Nov 20, 2013
Beautiful ! how did you get such a light on a wild animal ?
Would you please put some pictures, but a bit less good so that we can find something to put in the suggestions.
It is an animal, splendid... and your photo makes justice. That's it I found, it is missing a small tip of the tail. but think the photo would be less beautiful framed wider.

The safaris do not take place on foot, alas, but in a 4x4 you don't have the right to come down for safety reasons. The advantage of this is that drivers are equipped with strong torches. The disadvantage is that it does not move exactly as one wants. I had, nevertheless, managed to ask my driver to be conciliatory to roughly where I wanted (we had the time, the animal was exhausted by the hunt and had no desire to move). On the other hand, I had made the choice of 2 fixed focal length and not zoom for me to focus only on the speed of shooting well-aligned without having to hesitate too long with the zoom ring, and as a result, the disadvantage is that sometimes there is a lack of the end, as you point out.
