Line 20101124 Electric rays

Author 'Papou26' A voir (Id 133005 ) : Walking around the port of Saintes Maries de la Mer, she came to be flush with the surface of the water. The camera around the neck in auto mode, at full zoom, just enough time to 3 or 4 plugs and presto! She is gone with the depth.

Nice contrast and happy to see that the water has a beautiful color green and not polluted.
I don't think it is a skate (stingray) but rather of a torpedo electric more round form and without a sting is venomous. Beautiful shot to the extent where it is rather a deep-sea fish.

The animal is highlighted by the bottom of your picture. : 3: For this image we do not take all day.

Thank you for bringing this clarification regarding the identification of the individual "Torpedo" within the family of rays and the electrical characteristic of the beast. Phew, I dodged a: 18:.

This fish is of the family lines but it's a torpedo. It can produce an electrical discharge as a defense or attack.

Superb. A pro at underwater photography would not have done better.

Thank you for the comment. I have another photo of this line (Torpedo) on approach from the front, but the lighting was not conducive to shooting. The convolutions visible around the animal, however, are quite beautiful in terms of graphics.

She is beautiful this line ... and very well presented! I prefer it as well to the presentation of a stall! : 12:: 18:: 3:: 6:

It's been a pleasure to see beautiful fish on the site, plus a line, very unusual, beautiful color of this animal in a much ultramarine blue, a little reminder to the holidays, it's good! : 3:

A line at Saintes Maries: 20: (Jacques, have you ever seen?) Bravo Pappy, you were there just in time. In addition she has had the good sense to position itself properly to meet the criteria: 18:: 3:
