Author 'Boucher Marc dit de Meilh' (Id 187743 ) : This chiaroscuro has been slightly 'enhanced' by the reflections of the main subject. More space given to the reflection in order to inform the design in any way. The question of lights, is to push a little more, to intensify. I agree, there, the advice of some authors with respect to the practice of photography. Nonetheless, it is necessary to understand that the 'research' of a chiaroscuro is an approach that tends to make it contrast with the light and the shadow, avoiding, however, to 'butcher' some shadows, which must, of course, remain transparent... The Low key (being somewhat a Light-dark) demand, most of the time, that the shadows are very mitigated in order to give place to the only light that becomes, it, design or photographic or pictorial representation.
