Author 'Jcmai' (Id 131766 ) : November 11 for this a thought for all the soldiers killed or wounded and maimed. Whatever the camp, the suffering is the same and often are not those in front, who decided to war. This Cross 15m high. Was erected in 1935 by the French in Remembrance tribute to more than 6,000 soldiers killed during the Battle on the Heights Spicheren, August 6, 1870 (Recovery on my blog) and on the small central column, there is a plate orientation!

When I did, I asked myself the question, and I chose the blue power first (in the sense of reading and had to make sense of the roundel!).

A very nice tribute that my grandfather would have appreciated, he made two wars, thank you for those soldiers who fell for that we are free. : 6:

Panda thank you for the comment and implementation favorites. If you pass in the corner and if you have time there is the Museum of Earthenware next to City Hall Sarreguemines, and the Mine Museum in Little Rosselle to visit!

It is true that your region has suffered many battles ... no nationality, no difference, they fell in the cause of the greatest ... That has not changed and will not change .. Photo is sober and patriotic part reinforces respect for the memory.

Thank you Julie for the com and favorite setting. You're right that has not changed and it does not likely change in the future!

Josy thank you, when I was a kid, I watched from the valley, it meant that the house was not far off. The vegetation grew well and when you drive ... It will, I check, but at night it is lit (which was not previously the case!).

+: Thank you for this touching Jean Claude thought. : 3:

-:A little criticism about the context, France is blue inside, outside the USA.

Mireille thank you for your comment and your accuracy for the frame, I asked myself: 14: it is true that the blue badge is inside (the part I did like the sense reading) and also I forgot that I could check on the plate of the Appeal of 18 June on my gallery, I zapped: 12:. The framework should compensate for the absence of the flag in general the French and European flag (visible on my postcard Spicheren.).

Candy thank you for the com and favorite setting. As a frontier, it is more sensitive to these facts.

Nicole thank you for the comment and favorite setting. In border areas, populations may be more sensitive because in case of conflict still number one and good for the evacuation!

Nice photo of circumstance. Lille near here where I live we are not far from the front line, the city of Lille was occupied for four long years. It is good Jean Claude to gather and remember that day. Your photo is very beautiful and very sober. Good luck and see you soon for more photos. Friendships. Marcel.

Marcel thank you for your comment, you are right to keep the memory, but without rancor and if Europe with some directives do not always make us happy, at least it saves us from such conflicts. Amicalement Jean-Claude!

The framework is fact! : 4: It was still necessary to consider ... Small moment of silence before this image thoughtful and well composed, with wise words! The presence of a viewpoint makes me smile.

Anne thank you for your setting and as a favorite. Because the trees, it seems that the horizon is blocked, but for the table, we are still on the Heights, the road descends Saarbrücken is winding and quite steep and we see (among other suburbs the city) and its hospital on a hill opposite, where the Prussians were firing the cannon. (I read that and I thought the gun range was shorter: the quality of German guns were superior to us it was the guns that were most successful: the Chassepot, which is loaded by the breech and not per barrel).
