Mont d or in the clouds 01

Author 'WebMaster FEI' A voir (Id 65194 ) : Cows lost in the clouds by the 1423 m of the Golden mount in Franche-Comte-locked.
For those who know the flowers, you can see the gentianes whose height indicates, according to the former, the height of the snow for the next winter.
Info or Intox, answer this winter if I (or another FEIste) the courage to go back la-haut: 18:.

Es macht einfach viel Freude. Landwirtschaft und Natur! : 2:: 4:
Moderator's Response: With the usual caveats: "It gives me great pleasure. Countryside and nature!

Oh how beautiful it is! Any 'ma' Franche-Comté mentioned in this fascinating what the cow, always conciliatory in all weathers and at any time! I adore you brave little cows! The photo itself says it all, perfectly convincing!

Good setup and the weather conditions have helped ISOlate the subject and the use of a short focal length because of the risk to the author. Never ! I like this image !

It seems to me always important to have at least an element net in a picture even if the rest is blurred so that the viewer's gaze to rest otherwise it may leak the photo a little too quickly.

I took the bells in a very big plan, we will see if some are worth to be exposed on FEI.
So watch out .

She is superb this 'Cow montbéliarde' brown and white (the robes are variable but the head is always white). With this beautiful bell, it is probably the 'head' of the herd. She came forward to see what you wanted, leaving the others in the mist. Pleasant, she took the pose offering you a nice gift.
As to the height of snow of the following winter, corresponding to the height of the Gentians', the 'Old' there still believes. On this photo it is in full growth and has not yet flowered. It will still be much higher, exceeding in some places the meter and more !
It is a beautiful picture that would almost make you think that it was taken at the end of August ! The weather is unpredictable !
Really beautiful photo : bravo Web and thank you.

Excuse panda but I just read your comment where do you see that it has been taken at the end of August, we do not see the EXIF

Knowing the region, I set that this type of mist is more like a period at the end of August than the beginning of the month of July even though with an unpredictable weather, anything is possible. This is the reason why the sentence is in the conditional.
As for this beautiful photo, it dates back to the first half of July 2008.
Thank you for your comment and have a good day 'bleu-blanc-rouge'.

The photo was still warm when I put it on the site (barely 24 hours, thanks to WIFI).

To return to the height of the gentians, it is very likely that in this place they declare the correct height of the snow because it is near the Golden Mount to over 1,400 m.

> Ninik [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jul 13, 2008
It is your comment which has prompted me to look at the picture more closely. It is always interesting to see places in a context that is not very common.
I guess that all of these plants do not have exactly the same height, and that every year there is a good layer of snow, then. The risk of error should not be very great

Delighted to see that the comment has allowed me to get a comment of more.
It should motivate the FEIstes recalcitrant to the comments (and I know many) to understand the usefulness.

This picture of the cow in the mist is beautiful, it lacks the sound of the bell.

It is true that it is the only sound that I heard at this time, and for any to say that I reassuring not more than that.
By chance, wolves, rabid was far away at this moment.

It is rock and roll your cow with his vest brown and his gaiter to the right leg ! Pleasant shot and the backdrop of where her sisters are grazing in the fog !

A cow exit of the lot to the photographer. I love this image. The elders have always been right because they say it was based on the observation of year-to-year and since... of the generations that passed on the info.

Moo, you're always in the fog or clouds. It is a passion for you.
Note that I like the atmosphere that it exudes. Silence with only the sound of the bells of the cows. How peaceful !
You speak to the ear of cows ? She seems to listen to you !

> Lumixane [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jul 12, 2008
This kind of landscape, or what we see... I know by all the time ! Daffodils and trolls that dot the prairie in June are followed by the great yellow gentian, which can live for 50 years, and 10 years to flower the first time. The leaves are opposite, not to be confused with the vérâtre leaves that are alternate. Your cow is as grey as the weather ! I am happy to see this picture But where are you based, Web ?

I am hidden under a skin of a beast not far from the Mont d'or to try to bring you back pictures of chamois.
But shhh, I leave you, I hear steps in the distance...
