This photo was taken in the fall. The sheep will be shorn in the spring. Their long fur is their winter coats. The sheep on the island of Stråholmen live outside all year. Winters are harsh in Norway. Many wool is essential for survival under open skies. These sheep live a natural life. Their health is strong and robust.
