Author 'G.b.45' (Id 131606 ) : I do not know what could be the building or when it can be dated from Narbonne (Aude)? For the ladies of France was the sign store, I think there's always Monoprix?

Hello...
This is the original name, and it was a store created early in the 20th, during the revolts of the wine...
I knew him in 1967 and it was always the Ladies in France..
The store Labau, semi-detached, is part of the same architectural ensemble.
The Ladies of France occupied the three levels, and I remember the stairs up to the 2nd floor, a staircase magnificent, central and double, worthy of those visible on the engravings representing the major stores of the capital..

Hello, old Narbonnais, the name says it all, thank you for your comment, I knew about the existence of the 'Dames de France' and it had to be constructed on a model identical to the major parisian department stores.

A very nice building! You've framed a little too tight seems to me there. : 5: Here's the explanation I found on the Internet: "It all began in 1898. That year the brothers founded the company Gompel Paris-France in order to oversee the retail chain" Aux Dames de France ". This chain is quickly installed in several French cities: Paris, Toulouse, etc.). They compete directly with the famous "Galeries Lafayette" in Paris. "Daniele.

: 4: What good memories! When we arrived in Narbonne in 1976, was the big store downtown "Ladies of France," although we loved this store, which was replaced in effect by the Monoprix, but I do not know when. Monoprix is still there but its surface was reduced and another store is located there too. This building which I know the first destination is facing the Hotel de Ville, thank you for the photo that I never thought to take! : 3:
