Author 'Gipsy34' (Id 191674 ) : The sarcophagus of St Sernin is the most important work of the church of St Hilaire, it lies in the South apsidal chapel. It is a work of the 12th century performed in a block of white marble from the Pyrenees, and representing the martyrdom of St. Sernin, the first bishop of Toulouse about the year 250. This sculpture has been attributed to the famous Master of Cabestany.
