Old stone irish Ireland

Author 'Perronnet Catherine' (Id 220689 ) : Here I am back from my exploration of Ireland. This small country is full of ruins of old abbeys, castles and convents. Here, in their green green meadow, the remains majestic of the cistercian abbey of Jerpoint was built in the Xi century.

I also like to take this kind of building former ; we have a lot to learn in the construction of our ancestors, and I admire the work done with less sophisticated than today ; your cliché puts it beautifully in value. thank you.

Thank you for your passage. I am also very humbled by the beauty and quality of the buildings that the workers were able to produce with little technical means, but the love of a job well done. Several centuries after, and while the places have been deserted for a long time, the remains are strong and beautiful.

The ruins of this abbey are very important and give a good idea of its past splendour. In fact, it was abandoned when king Henry VIII closed the monasteries, and is fallen into ruins gradually. Thank you for your visit.

Beautiful light, blue sky, beautiful ruins with a dungeon that I imagine typically irish . There is no more than to build the roof and it is habitable . I had not noticed the little dark corner. Cathy.
