Ophiopogon Nigrescens

Author 'Nicoledesplat' (Id 186170 ) : Did you know that there was 'a lily of the valley black' I say this, it is called 'Ophiopogon 'Nigrescens', it is the cousin of Japanese thrush common.
It is a plant that is super happy to push at the feet of our hedges, our trees and under our trees, even where the land is ultra dry in the summer.
Grown in the Morvan, it flourished under the chestnut trees.
Loving the flowers out of the ordinary, we offered two scoops and I am in a hurry to be in June and July to see them bloom their pink and white flowers that I will share with you.
Very hardy, this plant is not afraid absolutely not frozen.

The leaves do not resemble at all the lily of the valley traditional. See you in June !!!

It is true Louise, lily of the valley black has nothing to do with our small sprig of lily of the valley white, but as you can see on this picture, it has beautiful clusters of black, I don't know why, 'they' have decided to name it as well , funny d', thank you for your comment
