Author 'Syruloben' (Id 182882 ) : Here is an emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae) photographed at a very small zoo in Mallorca ; he has beautiful eyes isn't it. I've learned (thank you Wiki) that in the emu this is not the female that incubates the eggs but the male, who up to the outbreak will stop feeding because it does not leave the nest. He will not drink no more except the dew that he finds around him, and will lose a third of its weight. It is also the one who will take care of the young until the age of 18 months. The emu is native to Australia and lives between 10 and 20 years in the wild.
