Hello Guylaine, this channel is can deep. At this place 2, 50 meters, with a layer of ice of about 20 cm.
This is the reason for which only the small barges and boats can wander over from April to September. This also allows you to visit the Amount in its width. Thank you very much for your opinion, it is very nice.

This channel and its port have their stories. Between the passage of the barges and the crossing of the horses during the war, this place was very active for the chalk quarries, but also for the transport of sugar beets. Thanks again Manu for your opinion, and the implementation of this picture in your favorites.

As it is nice, I thought it would be nice to show this place to the canal. Small houseboats are rented by the beautiful days. Thank you very much Almarie of having a choice, and your opinion is important.
