Author 'Kim' (Id 71205 ) : Why are they called there "prairie dog"? Because the first settlers, parties to conquer the New World in the sixteenth century, have confused their cry of alarm with a bark.

Oh it is mimi, especially since it is not easy to approach and they are quite suspicious! Dommage qu'il ait bread instead of hay! As said earlier it would be wise to blur the lower left corner.

Delighted to make the acquaintance of the little prairie dog I do not know (it looks like a squirrel with the beautiful bushy tail less).

This charming small rodent, the prairie dog (Cynomys), came to America, just like our European marmots. He has a great view that allows him to identify hazards. It feeds on grasses and seeds that are in the meadow. IT is now banned the importation France. Good shot of this animal being restored but remain vigilant.
