Author 'Boucher Marc dit de Meilh' (Id 213024 ) : Screwpress. The grape is crushed by the pressure of the wood piece located at the top of the screwpress. This piece of wood is actuated and pulled to the bottom by means of two screws in wood or metal. This press, more modern, is more convenient than the previous one since it takes up less space and especially less dangerous to use. (No need of cables tensioned by a winch, thus less dangerous...) This juicer has been described in 20 bc By the roman architect Vitruvius (born in 90 bc, And died around 20). Photo taken at the gallo-roman Museum of St Romain-en-Gal. Ph : Marc de Meilhan.
