I like the atmosphere of this picture where it receives the cold. A good alignment of Cormorants on the tree trunk lying on the pond. 2:

A beautiful winter atmosphere, this kind of ambience where you wondered about the outcome, it or break it, no obvious contrasts somewhat with the present. There is successful, the gray dissociate and more cormorants animate the whole: 1:: 2:.

With this kind of picture where the contrasts are naturally low, I put into practice the use of curves, which can qualify the gray, while preserving the black and white. Thanks for your passage, Julie! : 18:

I like the atmosphere a little murky for those winter mornings, reinforced here by the black and white and these cormorants "dressed in black": 18:. A beautiful shot. Thank you Charly.

It is not about black and white (just like the rest of my series on the snow-Garonne). They are just colors that have faded by time gray and snowy. Thank you all for your comments. : 18:

Sorry to make you still suffer the cold and snow, Panda. It's so rare for me that I have a stock of photographs. Now that the cold is over, I return to a photo of this corner, but with the sun this time. Thank you once again faced the cold, to comment on my photo. : 18:

Very nice photo, the Garonne River in a layer of snow and the dead tree that serves as a perch for cormorants. The black and white enhances the feeling of cold, thank you Charly.

About the tightness of the plumage of cormorants, open to debate, I investigated ... Here's what I read (Wikipedia): "The plumage of cormorants is waterproof, which is altogether logical for a species diver. However, feathers are made of a wettable outer layer and an inner layer which is not. The plumage is so wet that surface no more than in other waterfowl, water does not cross the barrier of feathers or invade then layer of insulating air. So here I am determined and I can leisurely admire this fine skewer. : 18: Good Sunday, Charly.

Thank you for making these clarifications, Anne. I stuck to the rumor, which as usual often peddles false information. Thank you all for your visit to my cold, now part of the past. A historical photograph in fact! : 19:

Charly Nice picture. Cormorants stand perfectly on the bottom of water resting on the trunk, it almost looks like a large aquatic reptile with the head out of water: 18:. Against a backdrop of snow. J'aime beaucoup. A: 16:: what are the balls that can be seen in the trees, birds?

This is called a photo of atmosphere, I would have taken at least 200 see 250 to bring the cormorant, but it is a very personal opinion! A nice photo anyway: 3:
