Rome 11a 125 Column of Phocas Forum temple antonin

Author 'Ninik' (Id 140327 ) : The Roman Forum, as seen in the other direction (back to the Arch of Septimius Severus). We can see the column of Phocas. It is a memorial column that bears the name of the Byzantine Emperor Phocas († 610), who donated the Pantheon to Pope Boniface IV. The column was erected on the Rostra in 608, the Exarch of Ravenna Smaragde to support a statue of the emperor, and was the last monument added to the Forum Romanum. On the Corinthian order, it is almost 13, 6 meters. The large building on the left is the Temple of Antoninus. On the right you can see the Palatine Hill.

What a pleasure to see this site that I looked very important with all these relics, a composition which shows a lot.

: 1: This view of ancient Rome is well framed and the blue sky, barely disguised, brings a nice shine to the whole. It is splendid: Ninik bravo and thank you. : 3:

Panda thank you for your appreciation and your favorite setting. Sometimes we complain of not having enough experience to make a photo of some buildings, then seeing all these ruins and imagining the size of these buildings in their day, we would certainly bitched because everything was really one on another.
