Shrub Has Candy

Author 'Nicoledesplat' (Id 185873 ) : At the sight of its many small fruits to the unusual purple color, you immediately understand why it is called 'shrub with candy'.
The most common Callicarpas is the 'Callicarpa Bodinieri 'Profusion', this is a plant that is resistant to -20°C but it better to mulch the first three years of the strain.
Do not rely on the white sheets and green that surround it, they belong to another plant.

I too love this shrub, I planted one in our ex-garden in the Franche-Comté (the house is sold since). We hadn't even straw, it was in a hedge with other shrubs decorative. It is still on and resists the severe winters of the region, snow, hard frost, icy wind. It keeps for a long time its purple fruits that put the color in the gray of winter.
In my opinion this is a smart purchase. Callicarpa means 'beautiful fruit'. Good evening ! Claudia.

I have not yet bought because I'm in the process of reorganizing my gardens, but of course, they will have a place of their own, because I've loved it ; and a pity for you that you have had to leave, I hope that you are not part without taking a cutting thank you Claudia for your nice comment and for giving me further details about this lovely shrub

Hello ! Thank you for your appreciation. No, I haven't been cutting, haven't thought of (and that is cutting how ?). However I planted one in our garden in the Loire-Atlantic, but it is less beautiful, it must less appreciate the climate down there, and especially the land that is very ungrateful.

This is not aware of berry purple. Please let us know about this beautiful shrub. When you have acquired, you will be able to show us how similar the flowers. A pity that the white leaves attract too much attention.

Yes, I know Ninik, she was too badly exposed this callicarpa ; I have not yet bought this flower because I am in the process of breaking up one of my gardens in order to better arrange it to receive other flowers purchased and those to come, thank you Ninik for your comment

I would have learned something new today about the name of this plant with pretty, small, colorful fruit Thanks Nicole. The large white sheet of paper takes to my taste, too much space

In fact, it is a callicarpa, this is the most famous, and appreciated, as I appreciate it, I also know that it was not well placed but I wanted to bring back a photo because it is part of one of my next purchases, the time that I do a little cleaning in my shrubs, it's a shame I'm sorry and you're absolutely right Mady, thank you for your comment

And yes -20°C, it is also for this reason that I like this shrub, very pretty purple fruits, I believe that I will not delay to me to offer, thank you Josy to have appreciated and commented on this shot, where I would have liked it to be more visible
