Hello Francis, beautiful bird unknown on our continent (well... I think ) I am a little embarrass to make you note that follows because I am far, far from being an 'ace' of the photo and even less a technician, but I see often that your small birds lack of sharpness or a sharpness very restricted on the eye or the head ; I see that you still have a wide aperture (f/4. 0) you should attempt to open at 5. 6 for example, your field of sharpness would be expanded ; I made the test with the iris from my garden, opening 5. 6, the flower was completely sharp and the background very blurred. I hope that you will not be dismayed at this remark. I wish you a good day.

Actually, I tend to open up and this may indeed influence the accuracy, and in this case, my speed is limited.
Me neither, I'm not the technician warned. .
I am often in conditions quite difficult brightness. The bird occurs once in the shade, in the shade or in full sun.
Currently I take my photos in the 'all manual' and I often sets the aperture 4 as a base. Therefore, I vary the speed with a minimum of 300 in order not to have too much sensitivity because it is quickly beyond the 1000 ISO It is a real headache sometimes.
You do well to underline it, and eventually I fixed to 5, 6 to find more accuracy.
As you can see, I am very offended .
Sometimes the remarks may offend when they are cold and a little led in the direction 'you're no amateur photo ' One day I received ' you would have done better to leave this picture on your card memo. '

I am reassured to see that, like me, you accepted the 'advice', yet that, in this case : 'advice' is a big word !!! What is nice is to share to others the 'stuff' that one has learned and understood ! I imagine, also, the challenges that you should meet in your output of 'adventurer' to make your photos, I will take my hat off ! Good evening, Francis.
