The Mont Dore Auvergne Rocks Tuiliere and Sanadoir

Author 'Eric f.' : For who knows this place, it is a framing classic for this shoot Rocks and Tuilière Sanadoire near the town of Mont-Dore in the Auvergne region.

The originality of this film comes from the season, autumn, which is of hardwood their livery-ochre and red, and at the time, a storm front welcome that threat on us while the sun is still shining in the valley.

I don't know about you, but me, who am the raw, I am like magnetized by this view, which holds something of the Tales and Legends of the Auvergne !

But am I really unbiased ? You have to tell me !

A little bit of Tolkien in this magical scenery, or Games of Thrones to make it more modern.
I like a lot !

I don't know this corner of the world, but through this photo, I've traveled with pleasure. Worthy of a painting of a painter, the composition is superb and the light is extraordinary.

Thank you Eric for this fantastic photo which I particularly like the contrasts.

> Perronnet Catherine [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply May 24, 2013
I agree that this contrast between light and shadow, associated with the mass of the forest as well as the rocks both menacing and protective to evoke the atmosphere sometimes ominous, sometimes bright of the legends of your beautiful region. This is a very nice photo well composed.

Thanks, Claire !
A photo in the image of our region, full of contrasts and where the time we can sometimes give beautiful performances as sudden as it short !

Thanks Bourgoin. Claude !
What a pity, the next passage it is necessary to make a detour. Nothing to get out to the Millau viaduct and admire the view, it is superb. One of the few success stories of the modern era in the region !

A very beautiful shot, this whole area is beautiful and conducive to the photo including the 'chaîne des Puys'. I knew this colored region.

I advise you rather the month of July, the nature is more green and flowered in August where the heat and lack of water can no longer be felt ! Whatever ! In view of the time at the moment... ! Lol !

I love the fall colors, they give the area a whole palette of colors and the mixture of the trees with hardwood trees gives even more relief to the whole !

I live on the other side of the Monts du Forez (LOIRE, therefore, some 100km from Clermont) and I have walked a lot (and still works) in the Auvergne region... (the 63 and also the 15) which is a beautiful region as soon as one departs from the highway !

We are neighbour then, at least when I'm there ! I'm always happy to promote our beautiful region as neglected in our policies (but that is another topic ).

Thank You Jasmine !
A region to discover without hesitation ! June, this is the right time, the air is fresh and pure, the meadows are to the flowers abundant, and the grass, the first cheese of spring come out of the cellar and it is very quiet, the leisure of July are not yet there !

> Lumixane [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply May 20, 2013
I posted a photo of this same view in my gallery in 2007, taken in June during a hike in the area, I see that yours was made 4 months later, the more natural the colors.

In June it is the good period until July and after August the weather becomes more hot, almost scorching (for the corner) and making photos is more difficult. Side heat is nice but a kind of haze sets in and spoils the views, and then the time quickly turns to a thunderstorm which may well be in a photo with beautiful sunny spells.
I appreciate also your photo is cropped tighter, you'd have to be lower and more closely than me.
It is easy to distinguish the basalt columns of the roche tuilière, which earned him his name, it's shaped like tiles from a distance.

Eric ! Nice shot and very nice description
The dark part in the bottom left bothers me a bit (this is only my humble opinion !) This is what a framing panorama by removing a part of the bottom would be more aesthetic ??? To see...
Thank you for sharing this beautiful area that I do not know.

 > Author Eric f. [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply

Thank you !
For my part, this passage from the darkness to the brightness suits me very well. Over tighten the photo in a frame panorama would be to lose a part of the sky, or leave it, but it would become too dominant compared to the rest.
I'll leave it as is as far as on my screen the shadow area is still legible
