The Rose garden under the snow retouching

Author 'Badgadj' (Original: Manu) : According to me, the original photo suffers from a general lack of contrast, and its color, blue-grey does not render homage to the snow.
I tried to remedy it while straightening up a bit and fixing a few small defects.

I haven't completely removed the blue cast, but I attenuated to recover a little of the other colors in the photo.

I am very aware of the large element of subjectivity on the choice of treatment to apply to this photo.
It matches my tastes for pictures with good contrast.

You have removed your first editing that I had commented on it. I regret, we would have been able to compare and this is how we advance.
For this second retouching, you are able to diminish the white burnt your first retouch, which is a positive point.

Like you, I quite like the photos contrast, but not always...
Here, the contrast that is added on your editing takes away from the softness to the whole. I no longer find the atmosphere fleecy that I liked the picture on the Manu... The gray weather and snowy' has been replaced by a sky strangely suffused with blue. . I say oddly because the blue does not touch the branches of trees... !!! But after all why not.
This comment is of course only a personal opinion, who wants to be constructive and in no case of controversy.

No, I have nothing removed at all.
Like the first one did not appear on my computer, I've posted a second. And to tell you the truth, I don't know which is past.

The white halo around the trees is due to an attempt to increase the local contrast. This is clearly a defect.

The colors were a little reboostées and as I have not fully removed the blue cast you see more in the sky and in the shadows.

I am fully agree with you on the point that this treatment is a little too violent and takes away from its softness to the scene and that he was not able to restore the atmosphere.

From a strictly technical point of view, this editing makes reappear the details you thought lost in the original.

But from an artistic point of view it is a bad retouching.

Hello Badgadj,
In fact, the blue tint is gone and that is a good point.
However, here, the white on the ground is a little burnt,
But above all this is a shame, it makes it a lot less account of the snow that falls. May be too white, or too clean, I don't know...
Definitely not so easy that it's snow-covered landscapes.
