It is a relic of almost prehistoric. The 'good butter' already feels musty, and if the store still has customers, they should be wary of. One wonders how the house still stands. A keep in the freezer for the next generation. Has die of laughter.

I see that this store another time you laugh ! You sometimes find similar in the small villages, but in the middle of the city, it is more rare. I have to say that I did not dare to enter nor to buy anything.

Beautiful grocery store ! Indeed it was worth the photo. These are the remains moving from a bygone era. I would have cropped the photo horizontally, keeping only the shop and the next door.

Thank you for your interest. Your idea is good of course this is an alternative. Here, however, we also see the rest of the building seems unoccupied and that adds a precision to the reading of the photo.

It is very amazing that he can still exercise !!! With all the safety standards and sanitary and I could go on. In all cases a picture to remember

Totally agree with you : the inspection committee must not come from this side of the city ! Thanks for your visit.

This door has lived ('these' if you count the one on the right), it has the charm despite of that it is dilapidated. Beautiful discovery Cathy.

Is this what you imagine the inside of the shop ? It is almost unbelievable to encounter a store as old in quite a large town !

> Boucher Marc dit de Meilh [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jun 11, 2015
Nice, you did well to photograph this shop that I knew often in the South-West when I was a very young man... there were still not bad and I do not know today if they still exist ? This, in any case, this shot makes me think of R. Depardon, when it decided to make a 'trip' in France (for 5 years) to precisely capture the old shops. See, for example, Shop 'Gifts' of Raymond Depardon (eu I appreciate its form 'black humour' or introspective.) It is, your photo pleases me very well. Marc.

I knew she would please you this photo ! don't worry, we still meet in the South-West and elsewhere in France and abroad from the rest, but in ISOlated villages. I have a book of photos of France of raymond Depardon and it is true that some of the subjects that he has chosen to photograph look like this shop !

Yes of course it pleases me your photo. I will not speak of the technique that is very good... But, back to Raymond, I believe he has photographed the Grocery store 'the good butter Bridel'. It seems to me that I saw this on one of his galleries... now which ? It's a problem. It is well if he still is, I'm sure they will still be able to serve and re-open if this is not the case.

Hello Marc, you know you're not obliged to give me compliments on my technique : I know that I am not good and that I do nothing for the rest What interests me is the subject and the other have fun with my photos after ! as Soon as I have a minute I'll look at the book of pictures of the France of raymond Depardon that I have to check if there is a photograph and I'll keep you posted.

Well, My Dear Catherine, I know that I am not 'obliged to make compliments'... , except under the penalty, the punishment may be so, but you know that this is not the case. No, I'm being honest is one of my qualities, without a doubt. You know, I also have, I believe, enough intelligence and able to know what that is, what is true or something, and even less pride, or false pride to me to tell me that it would be ideal in such and such a phrase by the picture (it comes down to it here.) Depardon has not always done what would be 'politically correct' in the photo or the picture ; it was HIM. But, make an effort to improve, you need to know about it ; be should be 'perfected' according to what we instill in them, isn't it Catherine ? ! Thank you to you and biz too. Marc.

Wonderful little shop, it would be nice to meet a few of them, they remind us that before us there was a simple life and simple people, all this disappears gradually, I LOVE a LOT !

Thank you for your comment. I found quite often this kind of shops in France and abroad, but always dana of the villages were tiny, which surprised me here is that this full-Narbonne.

> Dan.dussaux [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jun 09, 2015
I think that this facade is still in good condition, would only trim the bottom to replace or re-typing. In fact, there are still a few, with these high ceilings, but difficult for these small shops now. Bravo Cathy and thank you for making us remember good and old memories.

It's great to find this kind of shops and buildings of our days. As Genevieve said, it should be classified in the monumentss historic !

Thank you Alle but I believe that within a very short time, when the owners (probably very elderly) will be dead, the property will be destroyed or renovated.

Thank you Ninik, I still find in France and abroad in the villages are very ISOlated, but in full-Narbonne this seemed to me to be even more surprising !

You've had a great idea to photograph this old shop. Once in the small villages in the countryside they were legion.

Thank You Catherine. Have a good evening.

Beautiful picture, amazing to see it yet today, but it brings us back to our childhood, thanks for showing us this photo. She deserves an improvement and nothing for the fun of it I sent a.

You're right, these survivals of the past who cling, in the midst of modern shops, surprise, when you meet them at the turn of a street, in the city. I saw and commented on your beautiful intelligent retouching, as usual.

> Dede69004 [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jun 09, 2015
A beautiful shot that brings even the smells of the past, coffee, haberdashery etc... ! There are still a few shops that I know of ; they should be saved and not demolished to make buildings ugly.

OK Daniel for the presentation. You know that I never do any effect with my photos : I have neither the time, nor the motivation.

Thank you for your nice comment : it is very amazing to have this kind of shops in the centre of Narbonne, so a medium-sized city !!!

> Mady [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jun 08, 2015
This is an old shop that makes resistance It deserves to be classified as a historical monument as a witness of his time. I yesterday saw a garden shed in fibro-cement, a bit run down, witness to an era, also, declared a world heritage protected. Thank you Cathy for this testimony

Thank you Mady for your interest : it is true that these shops, which pass through the years without any change admiration a certain way.

We can see still some very old storefront as on your photo, but more often the shops are closed.
Good find, a witness to time past.

You're right, in principle, in the cities, this kind of shops are closed. In the villages there are still some that work, but right in the center of Narbonne, this surprised me. Thank you for your comment.

> Ondine [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jun 08, 2015
well, I had never seen this shop, I must say that I'm never going to in the city, but not view even at the time when I was going there often, incredible to see that still, it has its charm and it was worth the photo, it should be classified as a historical monument !!!

You can make a game remotely Genevieve : it is necessary that you find this shop in Narbonne : your children might be familiar with ? Thank you for your passage.

> Jofu [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jun 08, 2015
The shops of this kind are rare. It might need a lick of paint but that would be offensive to her. Everything is in its own juice in a unit of shades seductive. I am sure that behind the bottles we find carambars, and everything you need. Thank you and to Cathy for this testimony.

Thank you Joel, as well as for the promo of the photo to the Cafeit ! It is certain that he must not touch to this kind of shops : they speak for themselves !

> Gélinotte [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jun 08, 2015
I looove them, it could serve as a film set without a problem ! It is amazing that these places happen to be of the 'resistance' You know, that there are almost the same to the Arrow (I had ultimate for the contest of the forum, which was on the 'wear and tear' but have not posted about FEI)
In all cases for this shot, to say the least 'original'

Thank you Grouse as well as for your PM to which I just answered. You have found the word : these stores 'are resisting' !
