The praying mantis

Author 'Isabelle S.B' (Id 211946 ) : It's been several weeks that she is in the garden and as you can see, it is much heavier and will soon lay between 200 and 300 eggs that will pass in the winter, warm in the egg pod, a capsule that it will set at the foot of a bushy shrub or on a stone. After that, the mantis will die, and the eggs will pass away, alone, in the winter to hatch in the spring .

very Nice photo naturalist. The praying mantis was photographed in its entirety and you can see all the details of his anatomy. The background and lighting are very well highlight the main subject. Soon, Isabelle for other photos. Marcel.

Like everyone else, I appreciate a max . What is your secret to have a background so bright ? Thou hast brought back the insect into a mini studio ? Background modified in post-processing ? Secret ?

Thank You, Alex
Here are a few days that I do my shots in RAW. I thought it was a little chi... Before ; it is heavy, it takes up space on the DD (At least, it forces you to do sorting...), but the possibilities of correction in PT are significant. Originally, the background is half - white, half - salmon. With ViewNX 2, which processes the RAW, I have 'played' with the BDB and opted for 'shadow' which leads to bokeh.
As for the brightness, it is the 'D - Lighting' which has allowed me to have this light. The D - Lighting, but you have to know, is an image processing function that allows to return to the dark areas of the image to a brightness more important, and thus to recover the information visible. Has to handle it with caution...
All of these settings, I would have been able to do it directly to the shooting.
Voila, voila... You see, it is, somewhat, an open secret

An excellent macro, this elegant praying mantis despite his big belly is a remarkable sharpness. The bokeh is superb. Isa and thank you.

Hello and a big THANK you for your comment . My secret ? Tell the truth, I don't have. Recently, I try to shoot in RAW. Certainly, it is heavy and it requires a bit of work in PT, but this allows you to correct, if needed, a lot of elements. For the bokeh, I always try to take me away from all parasitic elements and, if possible, with a backdrop pleasant (autumn colours, for example). Originally, the photo is upright, the mantis climbing the edge of a wall of my house.
But, I think that you know as much (if not more) than me, in macro

What can I say ???... excellent image that would appear in the books of natural science to children. The sharpness offer a 'ton' of details !

> Labrume [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Oct 18, 2014
Despite its 'big belly' she remains elegant, this is the class. Pristine Image.

Image very sober. This presentation of a profile on a bokeh beautiful that it stands out and makes it majestic. As everything is under control, technically, it is perfect.
